報告人簡介:
Prof. Barry Lehane has over 30 years experience as a geotechnical academic and practitioner. He received his undergraduate degree from University College Cork (Ireland) in 1984 and then worked with Arup Geotechnics consulting engineers in London before undertaking his PhD research on piles at Imperial College in 1988. Following his PhD, he worked on a number of large infrastructure projects with Arup (including spending 12 months in Hong Kong) and then joined Trinity College Dublin (TCD), where he was the first civil engineer to obtain a TCD fellowship in 2000. Prof. Lehane joined the University of Western Australia in 2002, where he is currently Head of School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering. Prof. Lehane’s research interests include almost all areas of geomechanics and he has published over 250 papers in international journals and conference. Prof. Lehane also retains a strong involvement with Industry and provides ongoing geotechnical advice to a range of national and international projects.
